salon des refuses

Young Money Cash Money Billionaires organized an art show
A few rooms at a couple of houses in The Fort
The title - Salon des Refuses

"Salon des Refuses was the first real impressionist show.
Young avant garde artists rejected the traditional art.
We had the same attitude, but it wasn't about 'fuck the academic system,'
it was definitely more optimistic," said Harrison Luna.

"Me and a couple of people had the idea to
put up work that didn't get in to the Ewing Gallery show.
It snowballed, and we got some professional artists' work in there
and work from people who aren't even students."

"There's more art than can be celebrated in that tiny room.
We want to celebrate all of the art that's going on here."

"Put it in a space where there's no jury, no person telling you what's good."

"Rather, that's your decision."

"That's why we have professional artists sitting next to first year students
sitting next to kids who don't even go here."

"It's up to the people who came to the show to decide what they like."

"We don't know when or where or how it will manifest...

...but we definitely plan on doing more shows."
